Hi gang, long time to type. I received this email from a concerned fert
mom. She said it would be ok to post it here. If anyone has any info
that might help her please email me and I will forward it to her.
Ferret kisses and hugs to all.

>I am new at this ferret game. We adopted Elvis six months ago. He was
>a real wild man. About two months ago he slowed down a lot and most
>noticable was a real strange, strong, almost wickeningly sweet smell to
>his cage (fecal matter or something). I took him to the vet and he put
>him on antibiotics. The smell is gone but Elvis is still a very layed
>back fellow. He just lays around all day. He will at times play around
>with us but not for very long. He just ain't right.

>The vet said that if the antibiotics didn't work that he may be the
>reverse of diabetic due to tumers that ferrets sometimes get. He said
>that if this is it then there is not much that they can do - they can
>remove them but they are almost certain to come back.

>Have you ever heard of this? Do you know of anything else it might be
>or that I might do? I am just at a loss and don't know what to do.
>Thanks for listening anyway. Stephanie
