I just wanted to comment on what laying low could mean to ferrets.  My angel
always lays flat on the ground when bored or tired.  Sometimes I'll lay next
to her and she seems to warm up to me more.
 
Many times when playing with her I'll pretend I'm a ferret-doing what she
does.  She really enjoys it alot.  Maybe they think your a ferret when you
lay down?
