As part of Spring Ferret Enrichment, my wannabe poets wracked their fuzzy
little brains and came up with the following haikus:
ON THE FLO:
With noise like thunder
Great Books plummet to the floor
I read and make plans
ON POLITICS:
I'm far to the Left
My politics are simple
What was thine is mine
ON CRIME AND PUNISHMENT:
Where did I go wrong?
Are wiggling toes not fair game?
I brood in prison
ON COMPARATIVE MORALITY:
Humans call ME "Thief"
Whence came the office supplies?
Are YOU so perfect?
ON COMPARATIVE MENTAL HEALTH:
I hear what you say
You question MY sanity
But who brought me home?
ON FEARS:
I sniff in the drain
Don't switch the disposal on
Fert Mincemeat tastes bad
ON DREAMS:
Bunnies dash down holes
In dreams I join the Great Chase
Alice runs with me
I don't understand some of the allusions, especially about the office
supplies, but I guess poetry's supposed to be a little vague. Next
project...we learn French together...stay tuned.
