Here it is, short and sweet....

My vet suggests that Ferrets be kept on Heartguard in our area. He sold me
the size for 25 lb and under, and said to cut the pill into quarters, and
give 1/4 to each ferret. (FYI my ferts are a 1 lb 14 oz female albino and
a 2 lb 12 oz male sable, both about 2 years old)n I started to give it to
them last night, but I got cold feet. I don't want to hurt them!

So, oh great list of knowledge, I beg thee to educate me.

Question 1: Is it safe and necessary to use the Heartguard?

Question 2: Is it safe to cut the pill into quarters? Some meds you can't
split because the active ingredient might all be on one side.

Question 3: How do I get 1/4th of a pill into a ferret? I have two who
live together, so I can't hide it in their food. I thought of hiding it in
a raisin, but they chew those up pretty thoroughly, seems that would taste
AWFUL.

Thanks for your help,
Kristina
And Buttercup (ewww, you want me to eat what?)
and Wesley (I'll eat yours!)
the two wonder weasels from F.U.R.R.Y.
