I am tossing in the towel on email from my trip. I am hopelessly behind in
answering the HUGE backlog of email, and more comes in than I am finding
time to answer. I have a sort of "priority email" triage, with work and
school-related emails answered first, which leaves me with very little time
to answer the 1000+ emails I received while waltzing on the west coast. I
am attempted to do so, but I find that I am losing too much sleep, not
writing for MF, and not working on a ferret project very dear to me. So, I
have no choice but to pretend my mailbox lost them or something. I just
can't answer them all, but I *have* read about half of them them and will
ultimately read them all. I am very sorry for not answering, but the day
is only 24 hours long...
So, I want to thank all who wrote about Foster and Ballistic. When I get
the time I will print those letter out to include in their ferret book.
Thanks for your kind words.
I also wanted to thank all my guardian angels who wrote to say the nasty
remarks recently tossed in my direction were only from a minority. Thanks,
but I'm not too worried about it. Besides, it gave me an opportunity to
sneak in some non-ferret comedy. ;-)
I do have a fovor to ask; if you have a question, please send it with
"FERRET QUESTION" in the subject line. If you want to use one of my posts,
just say "PERMISSION" in the subject line. From this point forward, I will
attempt to answer these first, and I can use a "form" response to save time
and let you know immediately that I've seen your mail.
Gina, I know you asked me something, but I lost the letter and can't
remember when you wanted me to do it. Can you please reask so I can check
the date? I think its around the time I will be in Chicago for the
archaeology meetings or perhaps the mammalogy meetings in Seattle, but not
sure. I think I can do it if the dates don't conflict. Who's buying the
beer? And will I have a bodyguard to protect me from shelter people? ;-)
Oh, there was a modest amount of letters asking how ELizabeth is doing.
SHe will be up here next weekend, and has promised to send in a post. She
is currently in the middle of SW Texas at fire-training school and has
already been given a commendation for her work. Apparently, because she is
so petite, they couldn't find a fire mask to fit her face and wanted her to
change jobs, but she dug in her heels and essentially told them that they
would be breaking a contract if they tried to make her switch designations.
They got mad and yelled and screamed and threatened and bought her a new
mask that fits. Maybe Elizabeth will be my bodyguard after she returns.
