Hi all- I haven't posted before- but I wanted to share an upbeat fuzzie
adventure to hopefully make those of you that have recently lost a fuzzie or
are nursing a sick fuzzie HAVE A REASON TO SMILE A LITTLE BIT!!! I am
fortunate to be owned by 4 wonderful ferts- we are also long-term boarding 2
guys (1 adrenal baby)- They have the run of most of our home in the evenings
(and early am)- I had just gotten home last night after a trip to the pet
store to purchase live crickets for my 2 new red sliders (those tiny green
turtles we all used to have as a kid)- I set down the bag from the pet
store- it contained fish food, a carton of Marshall's, and the clear plastic
bag full of crickets. It wasn't 5 minutes later that I reached for the bag
of crickets- and of course- they're gone. All of the ferts were hurrying
about, looking busy and innocent at the same time- "What bag, Mom?"
"Crickets? Do they taste like raisins?" "Yecch!!! Bugs!" "Look-let's chew
a hole in the bag!"
My entire family spent the evening on their hands and knees- crawling around
looking for crickets! The turtles pressed their faces against their tank
and peered out at me all night- If a turtle can look scornful, they did. I
had to resort to sneaking out back of my neighbors home to flip over creek
rocks for earthworms- (my husband has a fit about this...) Anyway, we still
haven't found the crickets- I almost hope the ferts let them out- I hate the
thought of a bag of innocent crickets suffocating-
Of course, their other option was turtle food... My ferts are smiling slyly
this morning- I'm waiting for the ransom note!!!
Hope y'all have a good day-and think good thoughts!

& Wild Thing)
