Well, I've been reading through the old mailing lists looking for the
  answer to this, but we're moving next week and I can't wait any longer...
 
  How do you keep your carpet shark from chewing on things it shouldn't?
  Bitter apple doesn't have enough "staying power".
  Someone seggested toothpaste - any particular brand?
  What does everyone else do?
