Yes it is normal for your 6 week old ferret to whine when she is put in the
cage and wants attention.  Sometimes they sound like a goose!  And yes it
is normal for her to sleep like she is dead.  MANY ferret owners have been
terrified that their pet has passed away when in fact it was just soundly
sleeping.
 
You want to feed her a high quality kitten or ferret food.  Iams kitten,
Eukanuba cat or kitten, Totally Ferret are among the best.  Look for
something that is has meat based protein, a minimum of 34%, and with at
least 20% fat.  Moisten it with water for the first couple weeks until she
gets her adult teeth in.  Or mix a little Iams canned kitten or cat food in
with the dry food to soften it.
 
Enjoy your new baby! She will give you lots of love and laughs!
