It may be a good idea to keep them separated for 10 days to watch for
diseases other than ECE. In terms of possible ECE exposure, a 10 day
quarantine offers little to no protection. Even as much as a six month
quarantine may not be enough. ECE is thought to be transmittable for six
months and possibly up to a year. No one really knows for sure.
Besides, if they've been together 3 days it may be too late to avoid ECE
exposure. *IF* the new one(s) had it, the others have probably been
exposed to it by now.
