You should forgive yourself for this accident.  My Calvin runs for the
dishwasher every time I open it.  Now that I know for certain, I do have to
check.  I am terrified of an accident with my ferrets.  That is what that
was, an accident a painful one.  I can tell from what you write that you
really have loved your fuzzies so put this incident away and don't dwell on
it any more.  My Gypsy runs for the refrigerator - every ferret is
different and I almost shut her in there the first time.  I never would
have expected this because Calvin is never interested in it.  We can all
learn from your experience.  They are unpredictable.
