I think this is very important in any decision regarding a sick or
'disabled' animal. Sometimes we keep animals alive for our own reasons or
because we can't let go of them. But sometimes things that would totally
devastate a human do not interfere with an animal's life at all. I think
Lara touched upon something really important here--what kind of quality of
life does an animal have. Sounds as if Bandit and Harley are an
inspiration to those around them.
I hope that Faith, Faith, Sabastian and the other ferrets who have died
this week are all together and celebrating on the other side. My sincere
sympathy to everyone who has lost a little one recently.
My guy Simon, one of 15 who was given to Mass. Ferret Friends this summer,
is going in for insulinoma surgery Tuesday. Simon is a big, gentle, goofy
deaf DEW with some odd gray markings. He was the father to most of the
group who were given up with him. He's a very sweet, loving ferret. Good
thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated; thanks!
Ronnie in Mass.
