Hey You All,

Thanks to all the nice folks who sent me well wishes earlier this week. I
think they must have helped, cause I went out and had myself a big day
yesterday. It was fun and pleasant, only in the 60's here and very rainy.
I love days like that. Maybe that is why I want to move to Seattle. ;-)

Gearing up for school. I am not looking forward to it this semester, but
figure I had best take some classes. sigh.

On treats--well, I have to disagree about feeding only meat. I feed mine
anything except for carrots (can cause blockages) and onions and garlic
(causes medical problems in a lot of animals over time). They get milk, ice
cream, cereal (Pookie just loves granola) chocolate, pizza, burritos, well
you get the idea. They don't get a lot of anything but ferret and canned
kitten food. And meat. I do feed meat to the ones who will eat it, but
that isn't a lot. Max will only take hairball rememdy, ice cream and
ferretone for treats. A lot only take raisins and bananas, Nicky won't eat
anything but kibble, no oil, no hairball, nada. And then Miss Pookie and
Conan the Toebiter will eat anything I eat.

Mine are all healthy and pretty with very soft, fluffy coats. They are not
fat (more than I can say about myself), they are active and doing great.

On air conditioning-this whole thread has me amused. So many folks just do
not understand Southern humor. Get way too serious.

This is what I have to say--if you regularly have a period of hot weather
where you live, get a room air conditioner for the ferts. I have seen up
close and personal the behavioural changes when the temps get around 80, I
cannot imagine the poor little guys in hotter weather. Even for a few days.

In Houston, with central air, the ferret room approached 80. We put in a
window unit to cool down that one room. That is how strongly I feel.

I also cannot imagine Canadian temps getting like some of the stuff we see
in the states. I may be wrong, but that is awfully far north. And ditto
for the northern part of the US, I wonder when folks are complaining about
the temps, what they are talking about. I remember a year where I had
English friends complaining about the bitterly hot weather in London. The
temps? In the mid 70's F. I would have killed to get those at night in
Houston in the summer.

Well, got some body modification done. hehe. Looking at the tattoos. Have
a couple of really good artists in town. But need to find the exact right
design (Celtic of course for the Scot wannabe).

And I am sending out good thoughts and prayers for all those who have sick
fuzzies or have lost a warm little soul recently. It always touches me to
hear about those, but I also know there is a time and reason for everything.
