In Caleb Carr's book "The Angel of Darkness" there's a ferret named Mike
who helps out in a kidnapping investigation.....he sniffs..or ferrets....
out the hidden room!!!!
 
Besides having quite a few pages on Mike, this a good book...it's about
Alienists...that's early forensic detectives!!  Carr's first book "The
Alienist" is even better.....but reading about Mike thrilled me to
bits.....
 
here's just a bit of it....
