Pancreatitis -- you assume correctly; it's an inflammation of the pancreas --
isn't contagious, so Baldrick is in no danger.  Pancreatitis in dogs is
frequently the result of dietary indiscretions.  Come to think of it, it's
a wonder that more ferrets don't get it!
