hi, i actually have two questions (and again, sorry i'm posting
annonymously, but i live in dc:):

1) Speaking of DC, can anyone tell me what the deal is about ferrets here.
My little guy was left w/ me (i was supposed to babysit him for a week, and
his loser owner, a neighbor, took off for about six weeks instead, so i
kept him--besides, i don't think the original owner was giving him much
love, the jerk!) and i had no idea there were any legal issues re: ferrets
in Washington. Some sources have told me they're illegal; some that it's
only illegal to sell them here, not to own them. i'd love to take my buddy
out for a walk, but i've hesitated cause i don't want to have some animal
control person see us if he is illegal here. Can anyone point me to
accurate information? thanks.

2) My furry friend likes to sometimes (especially under covers) dig on my
calves--he scratches lightly, like he's digging dirt--and then lick
vigorously where he's been digging. doesn't hurt, kinda tickles. is that
typical behavior? what does it mean? it seems like affectionate play,
but i was just wondering what he was hoping to accomplish by digging on my
legs....:-)

okay, that's it! thanks. K
