As is customary in the MAR battles, the simple question of "true or false?"
falls by the wayside, smothered by irrelevancy and diversion.

Well, you'd think they might want to protect their reputation.  Maybe they
decided it wasn't worth spending a buck on.  Maybe they also knew they
didn't have a chance of winning a libel suit.

This is nothing more than another bullet hole through the messenger, but it
does shed a little light as to why you identify so closely with MAR.  What
of the other MAR stories?  Do they all come from unreliable, biased poor
people?  I doubt it.
 
Nothing changes for 80,000 little ferrets each year.  They will continue to
suffer in silence because of man's greed.  Perhaps some day an advanced
society will see a ferret kit as a one of God's miracles instead of a $
sign.
