Subject: liver tumor showing adrenal symptoms - urgent

I need anyone who knows or has had experience to e-mail me with any info.
I have a four year old female MF ferret who has had two surgeries in the
past 8 monthes. The first time, she had her left adrenal and a few nodules
on her pancreas removed. She did not grow back her hair after the surgery,
but her vulva did shrink, although not back to normal size. Three monthes
later, her vulva was swollen again and she had some green discgarge from
her vulva. She went on Amoxicillin for the discharge and then in the vet
went again looking for the right adrenal. This time she went to Dr. Mark
Finkler in Roanoke, Va who was going to remove the entire right adrenal and
ligate the vena cava. When he went in, there was no visible tumor on the
adrenal, but there was a huge tumor on the liver! The liver was biopsied
and showed hepatocellular carcinoma with the possibility of neuroendocrine
cells. The patholigist is doing a silver stain to confirm this for me.
The problem is that she is showing a swollen vulva again along with some
hair loss, but we don't know if it is the liver or the adrenal causing
this. I'm going to get her ultrasounded tomorrow, but what if it is the
liver? Has anyone seen this before or have any insights? Any info would
be helpful. Dr. Finkler says he has never seen a liver tumor show signs of
hyperestogenism before. Thank in advance and please e-mail me privately
also with any news as I don't have time to check the list all the time. My
e-mail is [log in to unmask] Thanks again.

P.S. Lynn, is there any way you could post this to the FML also. Thanks
and have fun this weekend.
