I've tried a couple of the best suggestions on how to get my new fert Moogie
off of dog food and onto a healthy diet, and it seems to have worked. What
worked for me: crush a little of the favored dog food into powder. Put the
powder into a baggie along with a mixture of ferret food & Eukanuba kitten
food. Drop in about ten drops of slightly sugared water (I know it's not
good for him, but I've already discovered this ferret has a decided sweet
tooth). Press it all together and mix it up real good, then leave it in
the baggie for a couple of hours until it's kind of soft. I tried this
yesterday, and Moogie ate an entire plate overnight. He ate it down to the
crumbs. He ate so much, he had an episode of diarrhea this morning, then
curled up and went to sleep voluntarily with his tummy bulging. I think
the problem of getting him to eat may be almost over!
