While watching a show (Wild Rescues) on the network Animal Planet, I was
quite dissapointed to once again see the labeling of ferrets as wild
creatures and not pets.  A woman who is the owner/ operator of P.A.W.S. a
shelter for performing animals and wild animal like lions and tigers said
something to the extent of this:
 
"It's very sad to see the illigal dealing of wild animals as pets.  People
don't realaise that the smallest bobcat or those little FERRETS can
seriously hurt or kill a child." she went on to state that the owning of
"such wild animals" is cruel and dangerous to both the animal and the
human being.
 
Remember, ferret owners, even though the ferret is legal in 48 states,
there's still a lot of misconception, fear, and even hate out there.Don't
let up you guard yet!
