I have them, too!  My kitchen carpet and couch seem to be particularly hard
hit; I seem to *always* find a ferret or two there!
 
Here's how I make them go away: I start running warm water, I get out the
baby shampoo, and I act like I'm planning on actually bathing weasels.
They quickly disperse, and are often not seen until hours later.
