We had the same problem last summer (we keep our ferrets outdoors in a
ferret-court)and what I ended up doing was using the sterilising tablets
that you use to sterilise babies' bottles.I'm sure you'll be able to buy
them over there,but don't know a brand name.You could also use a liquid
steriliser for the same purpose (Milton?).It bleaches them but is quite
gentle......in fact you don't need to rinse for babies stuff,so it must be
mild!I also found a toothbrush quite useful for scrubbing them out when
they were really ackky.
