First I want to apologize about the address' I sent earlier today. The
address for cards and letters of condolence is:

Mary Ann Staffire
% Sue Thomas
5768 NW 149th Terrace
Okeechobee, FL 34972

Also those wanting to make contributions of any kind in memory of Spike,
Deria, Rody and Sprite Staffire can send them to Sue.

Since we posted last more information has come to light

Sue Thomas from the Okeechobee Ferret Rescue (she also helped in the Arcadia
Rescue) spoke with Mary Ann Staffire's neighbor again today. Mary's
neighbor imparted to Sue that Mary Ann had gone back into the house (while
the house was burning) to try and rescue the ferrets. The neighbor's
husband wet down a blanket and went into the house to drag Mary Ann out.
Mary Ann fought the neighbor's husband who was trying to rescue her.

Personally the visual images I have of the above scene haunt me.

As for the current situation (April 6th 1998 9:51PM). I spoke with Sue
Thomas this evening. Mary Ann's mother and sister had not arrived yet (they
are driving down from IL). Mary Ann's mental state is still one of shock
and disbelief.

If you want to send clothing for Mary Ann she wears a 3-4 Miss' size,
underwear is a miss' 4 size. Mary Ann is very tiny she is about 5' 5 and
weighs approximately 95 pounds.

Again I ask that you send cards or letters of condolence to Mary Ann (At the
above address) so that she will know Ferret People are there for her.

Sue Thomas of the Okeechobee Ferret Rescue is on top of this situation and
when she imparts information to me I shall pass it along to you.

In memory of Sprite, Rody, Deria and Spike Stafire
