If you like to publish any of our (diane and bill that is) blatherings
that okay with us (if you send us a copy :)).

Was this animal spraying? Unless there is a problem in the glands you
shouldn't smell them unless the ferret gets riled. I have some plenty of
ferrets in my house. The descented ones smell no better than the
non-descented ones. The whole males stink plenty - wouldn't change in
the least if the anal glands were removed. Urine and musk don't come
from those glands.

Don't mix issues with the disparaging comments. It is cruel in my
opinion to take a knife to an animal for what normally makes NO real
difference in smell. If their is an infection or something in the gland it is
different of course.

I posted a fairly lengthy article on ferret colors just over a month ago
in issue 1118. I think its a little early yet for me to post it all
again - I'm sure I will in the future though when I read enough questions
about colors again.
In it I discussed Sables, Champagnes, Cinnamons, Pandas, Silvers, Chocolates,
... (get the idea there a bunch of colors/patterns?)
You can request that issue with the article easily however.
