The saga of Buttercup and her swollen vulva continues. After
removal of her adrenal gland in June, the swelling never went
down. It has been swollen since April and she hasn't shown any
signs of sickness other than her hair not growing back after
surgery.
The new vet (thanks to Katie for the rec as this vet is
great) tried a HCG routine with the results that the
initial blood test estrogen levels were compatible with
her being spayed, but the post-HCG test (1 week later)
changed somewhat (I think went up?) compatible with
retained ovarian tissue. So, what gives? Any ideas
and next steps would be greatly appreciated. Buttercup's
vet is calling around to ask ferret specialists but I
figured the more information the better. Thanks for
any help.
Chris, we were all sorry to hear about Mocha. Best wishes
to you all.
