I realize that the kit in question was a MF kit, but I still don't see how
you're immediately jumping to the conclusion that s/he was infected at MF
*or* knowing shipped with ECE as you suggest.
 
* Are the other kits at the store infected?
* What's the distribution route from MF to the pet store?
* Are they transported with other animals during transit?
* Are MF kits showing up at other pet stores aross the country with ECE
  (or a similar green-poop-causing affliction) as diagnosed by a reputable
  ferret vet?
 
The fact remains that at this late time it's unlikely that we'll ever know
where the illness originated.  The fact that two animals (one 'new',
supposedly infected days earlier, one established in the home) came down
with symtoms within 2 hours of each other makes me unsure that MF is the
culprit.
