Once again , I saw a post stating that Marshall Farms ferrets' problems may
be in part due to descenting.  There is absolutely NO basis in fact for this
idea.  Since I didn't apparently stir up too much with my original post, I
will re-iterate.  Descenting is not about smell, it is about good health.  I
have treated ferrets for twelve years, and I've seen many older undescented
ferrets suffer with chronic anal sac infections and abcesses.  Having
treated many terminal cases of anal sac cancer, I can tell you that alone is
a good reason to descent.  I have never seen descenting "cause problems
later" either.
