Young Ferret Folk are great to have on this list. I, for one, am happy
they've discovered ferrets at an early age and have many years to enjoy
them. They have better opportunity than many adults to educate school-age
people on the merits of ferrets. They can calm fears of ferrets in some
adults just by showing that a young person can handle ferrets. They also
remind adult FMLers that they're counted on to be mature and helpful and
reflect it in their writing.

Drew Koehler's idea for February 15th is excellent and he is wise to know
how important communication is. Good for him that he wants to do something.
Sometimes opportunities to do something "fall into your lap." For instance,
last year one of our newspaper columnists wrote that the sale of ferrets
should be banned and implied ferrets were wild animals. Her article angered
me but it was a fine opportunity to write a letter to the editor to dispute
her opinion and communicate my love for ferrets.

Good luck to our Young Ferret Folk and please remember to keep writing and
telling us what's happening.

Alice
