Hi Jessi;

Ferrets tend to be heavier during the winter months, and lean toward more
heavy with thicker coat if the room they are in is on the cool side. The
first spring my first ferret shed 1/3rd of his weight & most of his coat I
about panicked, but since have learned this is a seasonal thing.

An abnormality would be uneven weight distribution, as with a swollen
spleen, or tight tummy like a water balloon indicating health problems.

Take care,

 Gary & the gang of fur
Timmy's web site=<http://www.concentric.net/~Gferret/>; He's the ferret
totally healed from "terminal lymphoma" without drugs.:)
