>Subject: crying baby
My two month old male ferret is crying all day long. Like a crow. I don't
know why he so crying. Is he lonely? frightened? [OL]
I hope by now you've received some helpful suggestions from people. Mine
would be--
This is a *baby* who is probably upset at being separated from mom and his
siblings. Do you know for sure that he is 8 weeks old? He may be younger.
I would pick him up and comfort him and see if he stops crying. Also, can
he eat solid food? if not, try mixing warm water with his food so he can
eat it; he may be hungry. If you are comforting him and cuddling him,
talking to him, doing the things you would normally do for a baby of any
species, and he still cries non-stop, it seems time to ask a good ferret-
knowledgeable vet what the problem might be. Hopefully, some TLC will help
this little one. Best wishes...
