A year ago today, Tim and I were trying to decide if surgery was the right
thing for our ferret, Puck. He had just been diagnosed with Insulinoma. He
had a few "hypoglycemic episodes", with the bonelessness, glassy eyed
drooling thing and all that. So you could say that we were very scared. We
did not want to see Puck going through this any more. We carefully thought
over all the options, and decided that surgery was the best thing for Puck.
Feb.1997 Puck had surgery to remove the tumors in his pancreas. One year
later, I am happy to be able to let you know that Puck's Insulinoma symptoms
have not returned. We are glad that we opted for the surgery, and we are
thankful for the past year that we may not have had with Puck otherwise.
Here's to each drool free day!
