Hi all--
 
Just a quick comment--I saw the Maury show with Jack Hanna and the skunk...
Hanna did *not* say "these two carry rabies." I paid very, very close
attention--he said skunks carry rabies and he made absolutely no reference
to ferrets and rabies whatsoever.  I agree that having the two on stage at
the same time may have given the impression that ferrets also carry rabies,
but he definitely never said any such thing.  In fact all he really did was
have audience members compare the scent of the ferret and the skunk, and
possibly (I'm not sure on this one) suggest that taming a wild skunk to keep
as a pet is not a good idea.  Oh yeah, and commented that compared to the
skunk, the ferret smells like good perfume.
