i am a meat eater. its in my blood. but there are appropriate ways to kill
animals so that they do not endure stress or pain. A very few types of
animals, such as snakes, will only eat live food. That is because that is
how they eat. It's cruel, but necessary for their species.
But ferrets will live a long time on processed food. They don't need to
kill. Their instinct, while still there, can now be channeled into higher
forms of activity, like chasing balls and batting at grocery bags.
So even know we live in an unperfect world. Take care of your animal
resources like you would want them to take care of you. Do you want to be
dragged around, bleeding and hurt, in Godzilla's fangs? I think not. And
neither does anything else.
mark.
