I can't believe this is happening -- please wake me up. My seven year old
son inexplicably opened a seldom used sliding door and no one knew the
ferrets were out and then he left it open for about a half an hour. Three
of our four ferrets are gone. Have been gone since 7 PM last night and it's
now 1:30 the next day. I have done everything -- I was up all night looking
for them, have been out all day, calling, leaving flyers in mailboxes,
putting up signs. I am just devastated.

It's WINTER. Last night it was 20 degrees. This morning, light snow. Can
someone please tell me if there is any chance they actually survived? I
need to know whether they can live through below freezing temperatures. Is
there any hope?

Please would someone e-mail if they know anything about ferrets surviving in
snow. And I have been out calling and calling. If they are alive, why
don't they come? I am sick -- I imagine they ran out last night, eventually
curled up somewhere to sleep, desperate, and just froze to death. I can't
stop crying. Kat
