Hi Ferret Lovers,

I just finished watching the 11:00 pm Channel 4 news coverage of today's
Ferret Freedom Walk in San Diego and can't tell you how disappointing that
coverage was. It started out well showing ferrets on leashes and signs for
legalization & stating what good pets ferrets make. Then it all falls apart
when it shows a ferret with his tail all fuzzed up biting the arm of the
reporter and the owner trying to pull him off. The reporter then pulls up a
bandage on this arm and shows the wound and states that he got an antibiotic
for the bite. End of coverage, but the sports reporter at the station says
he wonders if you can get rabies from a ferret bite. It seems the news
media is our worst enemy--did they HAVE to show the bite part??? I think
not.

I can only hope other stations showed a more positive side in their coverage.

Barb
