Several things on my mind:

1) I too had a question that didn't get much response, but looking back over
it, it's coz *I* asked it wrong. Please, allow me to rephrase. My little
girl Samantha is loosing hair on her tail. I have read the FAQ's (thanks
Pam!) and know that it's most likely *not* adrenal, but nutritional. She
gets a Ferretone/Olive oil mix treat every day, and her diet is mostly Iams
kitten, although I just found TF here in Boulder and am going to switch her
to that (she better like it...) This hair loss happened right after my dad
(she lives with him right now, and likes him more than me) gave her some
ferret McDonalds every day (purina cat chow - she loved it...brat) That is
discontinued!

The question:
What foods/supplements/etc. have had an impact on coat quality? Nutrical??
Duck Soup as a treat??

I have cut her baths down (1-2 x a month) and am cleaning the "affected
area" as needed with noxema pads. I thought I read somewhere, somehow,
about using vitamin E lotion and/or antibiotic salve - ??? I think it's
growing back in, but she looks so dorky...want to do anything I can to help
her out!

2. My 2 cents on the biting thing - I'll take a ferret nip over a mouthy
golden retriever any day! The only person she's ever tried to take on was
the vet - really looking forward to getting her shots on Sunday...

3. Shampoos - I've been using Four Paws, which I like, but can't find any
conditioners (besides the spray on, which is apparently the meanest thing in
the world to her - I think it's got alcohol in it which defeats the purpose
anyway). Anybody know about the safety of baby conditioners? Any other
ideas??

Thanks to all for the info, daily dose of ferret love, and support!

Tara

You know you're addicted to ferrets when you're out on a date, one of their
friends has ferrets, and you to talk to the friend instead of your date!
