Well, for the past month I have been babysitting for Vicky (Ferret1) I have
my 18 plus her 19. I have had 37 bundles of fuzzy joy to look after. And
what a joy it has been. I will miss them terribly when they go home ot Mom
and Dad.

I would like to relay two cute stories that had me laughing so hard I was in
tears.

Vicky had told me that her Big Boy Job loved to play in the tub in a little
water. So of course wanting to cater to the fuzzies whims I ran a couple of
inches of water in our tub. Job is a very big boy and jumping into the tub
is a breeze for him. Well, Job had a buddy named Badger, he is never far
from Job and is also a big boy who likes to play in the tub. After running
the water I went in search of Job. Badger and Job both came to the tub
about the same time. Badger hopped into the tub first. Badger doesn't like
water. He proceeded to hop and pop like a pice of popcorn on uppers. I
never laughed so hard in all of my life and he was so busy trying to keep
his feet dry he couldn't hop out. He all but walked on water. Of course
when I regained my composure I helped him out. I got dirty looks for 3
days. Job had a ball snorkeling and playing in the water. I'm not sure
that I still don't get sideways looks from Badger.

The second story happened just the other night. I had the little girls out
to play. Athena, Mandy, Cassie and Nephi. They are quite the little
ladies. Athena is one of the Freedonia rescues who has insulinoma and
rickets. She is a doll. She is somewhat stiff legged in her dancing. She
is just learning how to be a "ferret" with the dancing and carrying on. My
daughter (Jamie) was home and working on the computer when Athena decided to
go all out at war dancing. The kids have an aluminum dryer tubing that they
play in. Mandy and Athena were playing with the tube. Jamie lets out with
a hollar "Mom, Mom come quick! What is wrong with this ferret!" I about
broke my neck getting to the room only to see Athena doing her darndest to
war dance and she had her entire body bottle brushed. It looked as if she
were having a terrible spasm popping in and out of the tubing. As soon as I
realized what was happening I laughed so hard I hurt. Little Athena chased
me out of the room and then proceeded to dance all through the livingroom.
She is the most adorable baby girl I have ever encountered. She is a feisty
little lady who knows exactly what she wants and when she wants it. I
really wish I had my cam corder in my hands. It was quite a sight to see.
She looked as big around and she is long when she was all puffed up. She is
also an albino so she looked pink too. Who cannot love a ferret. They are
so full of life even when the odds are against them. They never cease to
bring a smile no matter what.
