Hi Everyone,
I took my ferret to the vet yesterday for a checkup and recieved some bad
news, DaVinci's Lymph nodes are enlarged. ( I remember starting to feel
them about 6 months ago - they haven't grown much if at all since then) The
vet suspects Lymphoma. ( DaVinci is a 5 yr old silver mitt ) She felt for
abdominal tumors but found none. She wants to do a needle aspiration test
to confirm ($300). This would only confirm the condition, treatment would
consist of chemo or letting this terminal condition run its course. What
would be the point in doing this test? Not much faith was expressed for the
chemo. After doing some research, it seems older ferrets seem to survive
longer. Does anyone know about how long? The big question is what to do
for DaVinci ? He exhibits no symptoms other than the lymph nodes - which
you can feel.
