actually, by the time you read this, he will be gone. Dr. Schiff is coming
over today. He turned seven August 15th, he was Doug Mckay, and a very over
weight dropoff from a friend who decided he was just more expensive than she
could handle. over a year ago, he was diganosed with andrenal tumors (and
had the left taken out), kidney problems, and pancreatic tumors. We didn't
think he would make it through last October, but then we heard about Dr.
Brown's whipping cream idea and the prednisonne and the winstrol went down
just fine. We were also giving him 20 cc of pedialyte orally to flush out
his kidnies, but stopped after a few months because he seemed to be eating
and drinking normally. Our one test of how he was feeling was to let him
bumble (he never really walked, just kind of bumbled along. His legs and
knees looked like, even in his fatest days, a muppet when they showed the
entire muppet) up the stairs to our under construction bedroom. He would
poke at all the stuff, poke the cats in the butt, and just inspect the world
like all ferrets do. within the past week, though, he has been too weak to
even get out of bed without help. Another recent event to show how well he
was feeling was we had this maine coon cat that we were cat sitting, who had
never seen a ferret. we let tieke out in the kitchen and borris followed
him everywhere, smelling him, and just being a pest. Tieke finally turned
around 180 degrees and started walking into (well, under) Borris. Scared
the kitty to no end!
So here is Tieke's lesson: turn around right now and face your fear (or at
least the big fuzzy cat following you).
