The reason for testing the bat strain rabies virus ... when a ferret bites
and the owner asks for quarentine instead of kill and test, the owner is
uaually told, "Well, there's no testing completed that says ferret's *don't*
pass on the bat-strain of raibies, so we're gong to kill and test your
ferret anyway." End of story, end of ferret's life.
The shed study will be completed regardless of who sends $1, it'll just take
longer to get funding straightened out, so more fuzzies will be killed and
tested in the meantime by animal conrol agencies all over the country.
Would you pay $1 to save the life of your own ferret?

may you forever
go in peace."
