Hey there.
I was really mad when I read about this silly Insurance Company's ferret
discrimination. (That would be American Family Insurance Co.) It's really
sad that some people are still so ignorant about these sweet little pets. I
will never knowingly associate myself in any way with any organization or
individual that is "anti-ferret". I hope that many more ferret owners share
this sentiment with me. If more ferret owners let them know we will not
patronize them if they will not tolerate our ferrets, perhaps they will
begin to see the light and realize that these sweet little guys are nothing
to be feared. To the person(s) who posted that message yesterday about this
insurance company (I'm sorry but I missed the name): thank you, and I am
glad that you sent information to them about why their policy is
unreasonable. They need to be educated about ferrets, and then perhaps they
will not be so weary of them.
About the 82 ferrets who were killed with a "syringe-like" object....I have
lit a candle for them, and I hope others will too. Thanks, Lynn, for your
suggestion. Lynn, if you come across any additional information about this
horrible event, will you please e-mail it to me if you don't post it here?
I want to find out all I can about this. This was the most awful news. I
look over at my little fuzzy asleep in the dining room, safe and warm in his
little ferret house, and I'd like to think he's happy to have a good home.
I hate that ferrets have to be in shelters, with no permanent family to love
them. I wish I had money and room enough to take them ALL in, every last
homeless ferret in the world! I know I couldn't possibly have time for such
a thing, because each individual ferret needs love and attention and
playtime, but at least I would know they were safe! I know this is
unrealistic, at best, but I hate to think of ferrets being lonely, or
suffering, or being victims of this awful thing that happened. (I don't
mean to say that shelters are terrible places-- many shelter people are very
loving & caring towards the shelter ferrets. But for some ferrets, that is
all they have! I just wish all ferrets could have loving, safe, and
permanent homes.)
I'm sorry to keep going on and on about this stuff. Everyone please give an
extra big hug to your fuzzy pals tonight and be glad they're safe and loved!
Happy ferreting,
Rachelle, David, & McKyle
