I had a strange experience with one of my ferrets this afternoon. They're
a male and female, 11 months old. Phoebe was a bad biter as a kit but with
alot of training she's now really gentle. That is until this afternoon.
Her brother Wiggum loves playing with hard rubber squeak toys for dogs. I
was squeaking one for him and she came running over. She was all puffed up
and she was dooking. I thought she wanted to play too. Instead she tried
to bite my hand. I thought at first she was trying to get the toy so I
held it out to her and kept squeaking it. She then jumped up my arm and
bit...hard enough to break the skin. I stopped squeaking the toy but she
continued to try and bite my arm. I scruffed her and put her down. She
then jumped up and clamped onto my tricep with her teeth, breaking the skin
again. I put her back in her cage and within a few minutes she was totally
normal again. Anyone have any ideas why she got vicious like that? Anyone
have any similar experiences?
Thanks in advance,
Jeff
