My darling stepson finaly, at the age of 23 decided to move out. I now have
a ferret room once again. YEE HAAA that's southern for cool. When I first
became a ferret owner all my kids had free rome of the place. Unfortuneately
when I married I could not trust my stepson to keep doors closed ect..... So
my kids became cage ferrets. BOO HOO. I just wish Sebastian, Mako and
Tasha where still here to help in the celibration. Although Taz and Marie
seem to be quite pleased. They didn't like the Moet. I can't understany
why. :-) Hick up.

I have also found that Lexan(sp) although very expensive makes a great
barrier. It is like plexi glass but stronger and clearer. Used with hinges
and U shaped rails attached to the walls makes a very versitile and
atractive barrier. It cost me about 25 dollars for a 24" by 48 inch peace.
It is very easy to drill and cut. (with power tools) It is ferret proof,
shatter proof and burglar proof. As long as the burglar is only 24 inches
tall.

I have found that even when placed in a doorway that is carpetted my ferrets
won't try to dig around it. Scarry. Although I did cut one barrier alittle
to small, less than a 1/4 inch off. They do dig at that one, but the ones
that fit perfectly they don't bother. I don't know if this will work with
every ferret but it works for the ones I have now. The true test would have
Sebastian the carpet killer. I get the feeling I'll be spending lots more
money on lexan so I can isolate my kitchen from the rest of my house. This
would almost triple the room my ferrets would have for play. The house I'm
in is very old and I feel my ferts could find away outside some how. Shoot
some of the bugs that get in are almost the same size as Marie. Florida is
home of Giant Nuclear type bugs. :-)

Well take care and have a good week and a better weekend.

Have you ever danced with a ferret under the light of a full moon? I have.
