Hello Ben,
I read your post... I am going to ask you some questions about Ferris.
First -- how old is he??? what food do you feed him? How long have you had
him???

If the diet is not a high quality food, then he can be mellow due to a lack
of energey-- and in short malnutrition.

We just had a shelter ferret here like that-- that ferret had been eating a
vegetarian ( table scraps) diet and breads for the past 5 months. In five
days at tyhe shelter he was kicking up his paws and playing. Chasing other
ferrets where initially he was a mellow kid who laid still and was content
to be held and no more. Of course his coat was not the best looking either!

Nutrition is more than most folk realize. The proper nourishment can make
an irritabel ferret content, can make a lthargic ferret playful... when the
body feels good -- the ferret behaves well! Just a thought!! Feel free to
email me privately for any further help.

Fondly in ferrets,
Alicia - a shelter Mom
