Hi All.

I read a lot of posts lately about the "horrible people" who are trying to
give up their fuzzies.

Well, I feel like one of those horrible people. I spent the last two months
agonizing over what to do with my fuzzies. Work was taking more and more of
my time. When I saw it all coming, I went to the hardware store and bought
enough material to make them a huge cage, so they at least could run around
a little more. I built that cage, but work and whatnot ended up taking even
more of my time. It got to the point where the only time I could spare to
let them out of their cage was a Friday evening (and that's when I'm not
traveling...which happens more and more lately). That's when I decided that
I had to give them to someone who would let them out every day, and who
would play with them.

Am I so horrible for wanting the best for my fuzzies? This has been very
hard for me, and I have waffled on the decision several times. I know I
will miss them dearly, but I find comfort knowing they will have a happier,
healthier life than I could give them. It made me miserable to get home
from work at midnight and see them staring in their cage, begging to be let
out to run and play.

I wish that people wouldn't be so quick to judge. People join the FML
because they want to be educated about their pets. That alone sets us above
the "casual" or "fad" buyer. I knew what I was getting into when I bought
them, but I didn't know my job and my weekend obligations would grow to be
such resource hogs.

I have found a good, happy home for my two squeakers. They will move there
on Monday. I am very sorry to see them go, but I know they will be much
happier.

I'm sure my situation is similar to many others. I think I speak for all of
us when I say Give us a break, this is hard enough as it is.

Pete
