OLDER FERRET W. RESPIRATORY TROUBLE
Kristine, you might want to have your vet check your older ferret for
cardiomyopathy or lymphosarcoma.  Both of these ailments can cause fluid
buildup in the body which, in turn, can lead to wheeziness or labored
breathing.  For more information on either of these illnesses, send an
e-mail to [log in to unmask] with the message SEND DISEASE PACKAGE
FERRET in the body of the e-mail.
 
If you need to find another, more ferret-knowledgeable vet (or a second
opinion), check the STAR Ferret Resource list.  You can get it by sending
e-mail to the listserv address with the message SEND FERRET DATABASE in the
body of the e-mail.
