I've had my ferret for about 2 weeks and she is about 7 weeks old. I read
on the FML one day that they love t-shirts or blankets in their cage instead
of wood shavings. At first she adored them! She would roll them around and
sleep in them, but now that I've taken them out to wash, I've found about a
5x5 sq inch section missing. Over about a week she has had the blanket in
her cage and has been acting fine. I know that cotton fibers are
indigestible (undigestible?) but her poop looks like it always has, so she
must be chewing the material into very fine pieces. She loves those
blankets more than anything, but eating them can't be good for her. I'm
sure I could find other things for her to roll up in or chew on. Please
tell me if there is a serious problem or if this is acceptable.
