I would be unlikely to call for anything resembling a ban on import of this
or that ferret breed, and would be hesitant to take the calls to shut down
people to too high of a level.
 
Be sure you want the government involved.  The government is an agent unlike
any other in that it is an agent of coercive force and often does not have
to be concerned that its products are good.  The government, while doing
good some of the time, and being populated by some intelligent, caring
people, gives you the grand folks at California Depts of Health and Fish and
Game, and people like Dick Floyd in the Assembly.
