I think that sounds like a wonderful idea, and an excellent application for
the info, especially for how to get updates out, which has been a problem
that stumped me. There is, however, the consideration that I am not a super
computer whiz (just love my ferret & want to care for him), don't have a web
page & barely have time to do the compiled post itself, and just keep up
with the ferret lists I belong to. So, let me ask- any chance you might be
willing to take charge of setting up a website? Or becoming chief
taskmaster in charge of getting other people to do it? Or know anyone who
would? Or, if you are on the chat line, could you ask around? Or perhaps a
group of people could collaborate? I would be happy to forward the info I
compile, and I know there are several GOOD sources of info on the web that
would likely allow their info to be added, but I just don't have the time to
tackle anything that big by myself, and I'm intimidated by the web for
anything more than typing on. I'd certainly help, though. Maybe if we get
several people, each of whom would be willing to be responsible for ongoing
gathering of info on this subject from one source (a list, a website,
proposals like mine, a magazine, an association, etc.) others to edit and
put it together to make easy sense, and others who would be responsible for
technical stuff (cross referencing, site links, typesetting, html?,
graphics, etc.) we could do a collaborative, interactive site? Maybe we can
get a couple of Vets to volunteer to do a 'Dear Dr.' column for advice.
It's a great idea. Help me?

In the meantime, I will compile the VMC, which will be a list of home
remedies for emergency and first aid use, and send copies to all who submit
remedies, then later a virtual toy chest, with toy and play ideas, maybe
later a virtual castle catalogue, with housing ideas, and/or a virtual
ferret kit (as in supply, not baby) for basic ideas on what supplies in
general to have and make for your ferrets (accessories, food, basic needs,
travel gear, etc), etc. etc.. I can handle doing this a chunk at a time.
Maybe if we can get a VMC started, it could eventually evolve into a Virtual
Ferret Village, with sections on all of the above, and anything else we can
think of, with lots of folks responsible for ongoing info on a single
subject from a single source, or for a single, ongoing task.

Sounds like an awesome project for many, or a more-than-full-time job for
one :D.

Talk to me. Let's toss this back & forth for a bit, yes?
Thanks for the post. ;D
