Hello:
I've been on this mailing list for a few months, and have really enjoyed
reading about everyone and their ferrets. I am a first time ferret owner,
and I really love it. My ferret's name is Begby, and she is really great.
She is only about six months old and she has been fixed, but she hasn't been
de- scented. My boyfriend, Steven, says he wants to have her descented. I
told him I would ask you all what you thought about it. It seems like I
have read a bit about it, and some people suggest it and others don't.
We had her for several weeks before she every "sprayed." She fell a few feet
and I'm sure it scared her. She sprays occasionally now, but I don't know
why. I don't think she needs to be de-scented. I think the biggest reason
he wants to do it, is because one of his friends wouldn't hold her after he
found out that she hadn't been de-scented.
I hope this question isn't too lame, I have looked in a few other places and
read all the FAQ's, but could anyone email me and let me know the pros or
cons of de-scenting and their experiences with it. Also, does a ferret
spray when it does it's business? Steven seems to think she does, but I
never have heard of that.
I would really appreciate it. Even though I haven't written in before, I
have actually learned a lot from you guys and have tried several suggestions.
Thanks!
Karyl & (stinky/not too stinky Begby)
