Tim,
I know you have considered it, but I am urging you to find a ferret
knowledgeabel vet in the surrounding area for your ferrets to see.  If there
is tendon, ligament or a broken bone, the ferret does need attention or the
problems may become worse.
 
Ferrets have a way of not showing pain, that does not mean they do not feel
pain.  To avoid complications from this injury PLEASE take your kid to the
vet..  it may save his leg!
